Gideon is the second book in the Lodestone (Stark Brothers) series. Gideon 'Gid' Stark and his brother Zakary 'Zak' Stark are the genius brothers behind the multi-billion dollar search engine ZAG. Wealthy, good-looking, and charismatic, they are adventurous playboys, who travel the world BASE jumping and doing all kinds of daredevil stuff. That all stopped in Venezuela. Down there to BASE jump Angel Falls, Gid and Zak are kidnapped. Kidnapped, marched through the jungle, held for ransom, they escape. Then Gid is killed as Zak rescues him. Leaving his body behind, Zak goes to retrieve the body the next day....but the scavengers in the jungle have beaten him to it. There is no body to be found. Yes, the two legged scavengers. Gid was taken from the Venezuelan jungle, barely alive, and sold to a guerilla organization in Cosio, called the ANLF. Not remembering his former life, he is Sin Diaz, son of the deceased El Jefe of the ANLF. Riva Rimaldi, an operative for T-FLAC, is on her way to Cosio to infiltrate the organization of the opposing team, led by Escobar Maza. When her helicopter crashes into the jungle, and she falls into the hands of Sin Diaz, the action begins. Sin and Riva have an immediate chemisty, but she is hiding her true mission from him, and he is trying to get the information from her. One interesting thing about Riva is she is psychic, and sees the helicopter crash before it happens. But Riva never sees visions from her own perspective, just that of other people around her. The book is filled with action, adventure, despotic megalomaniacs who want power, bombs, and gun battles. The plot twist, when it comes, is totally unexpected. The book is well written, fast paced, and has some tasteful sex scenes. Not over the top, just very suggestive. More action/adventure than anything, this is Ms. Adair back at best. I would recommend that you read Hush, the first Stark Brother Lodestone book. There are several other Lodestone books available, but Hush started it all. Very good read, highly suspenseful.

Here's the thing. Last we saw Gideon he was dead on the ground with no one left alive to help him. We all knew Gideon wasn't dead, but this was not the story that he deserved. Also, two really annoying things - we know all about the jungle. We read about it in Hush. We didn't need to have another pair trekking through the same thing. Also, the ending is too rushed. When they finally get out of the jungle (and stop having sex at ridiculous times and places), the resolution happens so fast that you're left hanging. And poor Zak gets about a nanosecond. No Epilogue either.
I was left very u satisfied. I wanted to love it, but Gideon deserved better.
What else could we throw into this implausible plot? We have a cold, sarcastic, unfeeling drone of a heroine, a could-be-great hero enmeshed in a silly plot where he is kidnapped, drugged, and emerges as some female warlord's son, a story line which is not only unbelievable, but has a jungle drug king auctioning off a thermoblast weapon which he obtained God knows where, and a sudden ending which is partially inconclusive. A grave disappointment from a good author. I skipped many pages; you should skip it all together.
The long awaited and much anticipated second book in Cherry Adair's Lodestone series has been released and it is a fantastic read! If you like high-octane action/adventure and sizzling hot romance, then "Gideon" is the book for you. I recommend reading "Hush", the first book in this series, prior to reading "Gideon" as this book picks up where "Hush" left off, but "Gideon" is also a fantastic stand alone read. In my opinion, Ms. Adair is the Queen Mother of heart stopping adventure and heart melting romance and she never disappoints. "Gideon" kept me on the edge of my seat from the get-go. I highly recommend this book. Just be sure to fasten your seatbelt. You are going to need it! 10+ stars.
This is a classic Cherry Adair book. Action is off the charts, chemistry is off the charts, story intrigue is off the charts.
Riva works for T-FLAC and is headed to stop a mad man who is about to unleash, well that's her job, to find out what. She can also foresee the future. Unfortunately, her helicopter crashes in the jungle and she is retaken to Sin Diaz's hideout. No secret that we learn that Sin is Gideon stark who was presumed dead in "Hush". Onto discovering what the bad guy is doing.
Ok, so I am a die hard Cherry Adair fan and when she left us, more than a year ago, with this sexy mans fate untold I was one of the legion who hounded her endlessly for this story. It was worth every second of the wait. Gideon and Riva are everything that I love about Cherry Adair books. Spunky, sexy and fun. The story keeps you running along with them as they try to discover what has happened to Gideon in the last few months. I highly recommend reading Hush first and if you have not read any of the T-Flac books, grab Ice Cold or Ricochet too get up to speed.

This one is for the fans and does not disappoint.
I don't normally read this genre but I must say Cherry Adair may have just converted me. usually these books need so much set-up and descriptions of how we got to this point that I was not looking forward to reading it. The first sentence on the first page changed my mind very quickly. Riva was by far one of the best characters I have read in a while she's tough, funny, a fighter, and oh yes she can see into the future while Sin is the guy you want to wake up to after surviving a crash and waking up tied to a bed! The writing is vividly descriptive and as a well written book can do pulls you in where you can picture everything. The author lets you slide effortlessly into the story and keeps you on edge in a good way through the entire read. While I have read several times that this is a stand alone novel, I have purchased book #1 in the series not only for the wonderful writing but I'm sure it will add a great deal to the second story for me. I highly recommend this book for Cherry's fans old, new, and soon to be!
